Driving Directions
From the East Bay, take 580N towards Point Richmond/San Rafael. Cross the San Rafael Bridge ($2 toll).
Take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd. exit and stay on Sir Frances Drake Blvd. for a long time (about 20 mi).
You will come to a "T" intersection with Highway 1. Turn right on Highway 1, then left onto
Bear Valley Rd (watch for visitor's center signs). The visitor's center will be on your left. The trail head
is at the far end of the parking lot.
Trail Directions
We usually save this run for special occasions, but it's well worth the trip out here for the spectacular ocean
views. Most people will trek out to Arch Rock, which is 4.5 miles from the Bear Valley trail head, but there are
a number of ways to go out to the coast and back.
